I’ve had intense sex before and I’d been with women I taken well past the point. I’d watched as they blacked out and felt satisfaction at a job well done, a reputation upheld.

None of them had ever left me feeling the way Aleena did.

Maybe that was why I was still curled around her on the couch at two in the morning.

She was sound asleep.

I was far from it and she was the main reason why.

Turning my face into her hair, I told myself I’d do better if I got up and moved into my bed, but lying there with her...it was like nothing I’d ever experienced before. For the first time in as long as I could remember, I wasn’t restless. With a start, I realized what I was feeling.

Peace.

I didn’t want to give that up, and so I didn’t move. Besides, in a few hours, I’d have to be up and around, dealing with work and all the bullshit that came with it. And then there was other shit that would happen this week.

I shifted into a more comfortable position, my heart skipping a beat as she automatically curled into me. Yeah, I wasn’t going anywhere any time soon, even if it meant staying awake all night.
